the Italian game was developed by alessandro Salvio  and giulio Polerio in the 15th century, today this variation is used successfully by the Moldavian grandmaster Viorel Bologan.

  3...Nf6 the two knights variation, the black knight attacks the white pawn on e4 but black gives the opportunity for white to jump with his knight on g5 threatening a fork on f7. 4.Ng5 attacking the pawn on f7. 4...d5 stopping the attack on f7. 5.exd5 Nxd5 

6.Nxf7! 

white is sacrificing a piece to bring the king into the center. [6.d4]

 6...Kxf7 7.Qf3+ giving check to the king and attacking the black knight on d5. 7...Ke6 the only move to protect the knight on d5. 8.Nc3 putting more pressure on the d5 square.

Results of the 2^nd BCA Blitz Championship

The tournament started at 10 p.m and has seen the participation of 17 players representing two country’s Bahrain and India.

It was only at the last round after Preetham managed to make a draw in an incredible game against Ali Hafed and that Mohamed Sheer couldn't avoid a perpetual check against Ebrahim Burshaid that FIDE Master Janahi Zeyad was declared the winner of the 2^nd BCA blitz Championship! 

The FIDE Master Janahi Zeyad won the tournament with 6 points out of 7 games followed by Sher Mohamed and Hafed Ali with 5.5/7.

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 Bg4? This move is a mistake, it was better  to protect the pawn on "e5" by playing the knight to "d7". 4.dxe5 Bxf3 [4...dxe5 Taking back immediately the pawn on "e5" would have been a mistake. 5.Qxd8+ Kxd8 6.Nxe5+- winning a pawn and threatening a fork on "f7".] 5.Qxf3 dxe5 6.Bc4! now that black lost his white squares bishop, Paul Morphy is attacking the white squares ! 6...Nf6 avoiding the check mate on "f7". 

7.Qb3! 
creating a double attack ! 

7...Qe7 with this move black is protecting the "f7" pawn and wants to exchange Queens by playing Queen to "b4". [7...Qd7? 8.Qxb7 Qc6 9.Bb5! and Black is loosing the Queen.] 8.Nc3! avoiding the exchange of the Queens. [8.Qxb7 was a possible move, but Paul Morphy wants to keep the Queens on the board for the attack ! 8...Qb4+ 9.Qxb4 Bxb4+ 10.Bd2+- with a winning endgame.] 8...c6 now the black Queen is protecting the "b7" pawn.

Morphy is following the rules by developing his pieces.

 Free for members of Bahrain Chess Academy.

- Entry fee must be paid at the Bahrain Chess Academy before Thursday 2 August 2012 10.p.m; otherwise the player will not be included in the pairing.
